I became a mother to Raymond at the age of 22, shortly after getting married. The years leading up to my son's diagnosis were some of the most difficult of my life, shaping me in ways I never expected. They taught me forgiveness, patience, unconditional love, and sacrifice. Most of all, they taught me that life is rarely what we envision, but even in its hardest moments, it can still be meaningful and full of purpose.
Because of Raymond, I have grown into the person I am today. His resilience and constant smile continue to inspire me to push myself to be the best mother and individual I can be. I will forever be honored to have been chosen as his mother.
Today, I am a divorced, single mother of three, navigating life with strength, clarity, and intention. I am in a season of rediscovering who I am, learning what brings me joy, embracing the present moment, and allowing myself the space to grow. This chapter has taught me the importance of slowing down, finding happiness in the now, and appreciating life as it unfolds.
Even on our most challenging days, I am reminded that many families may never reach the milestones we have been fortunate to experience. That reality breaks my heart and strengthens my desire to help, support, and advocate for others walking similar paths.
My hope is to inspire our community to never lose hope, to advocate fiercely for their children and their diseases, and to believe in the power of shared voices. Without advocacy, awareness, and perseverance, meaningful change is not possible.

Making a difference in this complex world is something I strive to do every day.
